In simple terms, a pneumatic tire forklift is a type of forklift (commonly used for outdoor work) that makes use of pneumatic tires.

Now that we’ve got that cleared up, let’s take a closer look at what it actually means.

There are three different types of tires that are commonly used on forklifts:

Pneumatic – large air-filled tires, made from durable, thick rubber with deep tracks for extra grip on loose or muddy surfaces. You can find a huge variety of forklift tyres in Singapore according to your purpose.

Solid – like their names suggest these tires are made from a solid piece of rubber, which means they can’t be punctured. They can be used for both indoor and outdoor environments, though ideally not on overly rough terrain as they don’t offer the forklift any protection.

Polyurethane – these tires are welded onto the wheel, they offer great traction on smooth indoor surfaces, but cannot be used outside without seriously damaging the vehicle.

While the pneumatic tire forklift may not be particularly suited to indoor work, it is the unrivaled master of the outdoor environment.

This is because pneumatic based tires are made from an incredibly strong, exceptionally thick rubber, that has deep grip marks engraved into it before being sized to provide the forklift with all the traction and support it needs to do its job.

Because the tires are filled with highly pressurized gas, they act as a kind of cushion on which the forklift travels. This means that a pneumatic forklift is able to avoid the kind of co-incidental damage that would normally occur when a lift truck travels over uneven ground.

Pneumatic Tires are far and away the best choice to use outside for long-lasting, multi-terrain forklift tires.
